WHAT IS ABDOMINOPLASTY ?
Most people who elect for a tummy tuck have an excessive amount of saggy skin and fat around the midrif caused by weight gain, massive weight loss or pregnancy. Abdominoplasty is performed to remove excess loose skin, fat and subcutaneous tissue. The tummy tuck procedure also improves the tightness of the abdomenal muscles and the tension of abdominal skin.
The best candidates for abdominoplasty are men or women who are in relatively good shape but wish to be rid of excess skin or ffat on the waist. The surgery is especially suitable for women who, through multiple pregnancies, have had their abdomen stretched.
The surgery is performed under general anaesthesia.
After the operation the tension is improved and the abdomen is flattened, and tighter although lower abdominal scarring and a circular scar around the navel may remain. This surgery is often combined with liposuction as this enables the removal of any excessive fatty tissue from the sides and the upper part of the abdomen.
What about recovery?
After a day of convalescence you should feel able to walk with assistance. Post surgery you should rest for 2 to 3 days with your hip joints slightly bent and abdomen dressed with a soft elastic dressing.
What about convalescence?
It is advised not to resume work for about 10-14 days after the operation. Elastic garments are best worn to support the surgical area for a period of two months after the surgery.
5 nights stay in Poland Is recommended.
