There are two ways to uplift the breasts:
1) The Traditional Technique (£2100)
2) The Implant Technique (£2750)
A woman’s breasts can change over time, losing their original youthful shape and firmness.
These changes and loss of skin elasticity can result as a result of: Pregnancy, breast feeding, ageing, weight fluctuations, gravity or heredity.

Also referred to as mastoplexy, a breast lift raises and firms the breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape and support the newly contoured breast. In some individuals, the areola becomes enlarged over time, and a breast lift will reduce this as well. A breast lift can completely rejuvenate your figure.

Breast lift surgery alone does not significantly change the size of your breasts or fill out the upper part of your breast. If you want your breasts to look fuller or smaller, you might want to consider either breast augmentation or breast reduction surgery described on other pages in this section of the site.

Sometimes it is necessary to uplift the breasts by removing some of the excess tissue below the breast. This leaves the scars as seen in the diagram below, which fade in time.
Step 1 - Anaesthesia
Choices include intravenous sedation and general anaesthesia. Our surgeon will recommend the best choice for your circumstances.

Step 2 - The incision
The incision is typically:
A circular incision around the outside of the areola, a line down the breast crease to form an anchor-shaped incision pattern.

Step 3 - Removing tissue and repositioning
After the incision is made, the nipple remains attached to its original blood and nerve supply to retain sensitivity. It is reduced by excising skin at the perimeter and repositioned as necessary.
The underlying breast tissue is then reduced, uplifted and re-shaped.

Occasionally, for extremely large breasts, the nipple and areola may need to be removed via a 'free nipple graft' and transplanted to a higher position on the breast.

Step 4 - Closing the incisions
Sutures are layered deep within the breast tissue to create and support the smaller, newly shaped breasts. Surface incision lines are permanent, but in most cases will fade significantly over time.

Step 5 - Enjoy the results
The results of your surgery will be immediately visible. Over time, post-surgical swelling will reduce and incision lines will fade. Satisfaction with your new image should continue to grow as you recuperate.

This technique makes use of a silicone implant to provide the uplift. These implants are inserted as in the breast enlargement surgery. The results show more fullness in the breast and less scarring than the traditional uplift. Any scars that are present are often hidden within the natural crease line under the breast There are no vertical scars from the nipple and no need for nipple repositioning.
